When the program was first launched by late PM Menachem Begin back in 1977, the Canadian Jewish Community was counted amongst the first ones to react and accept this new and unique partnership. This urban and social rehaadditional areasitation turned out to be a great success in partnering residents, Municipalities, Government and Diaspora Communities Despite the relative small size of the Canadian Jewish Community, all large and mid size Federations twinned with one or more neighborhoods in Israel:

• Toronto: Beit Dagan, Kfar Gvirol (Rehovoth), Eilat, Kiryat Moshe (Rehovoth)
• Montreal: Yerhucham; Daled Merkaz (Beersheva)
• Ottawa: Neot Herzl (Natania)
• Winnipeg: Gan Yavne
• Calgary: Mazkeret Batia
• Vancouver: Kfar Yona
• Ontario Regional Communities and Atlantic Canada: Or Yehuda, Mevoot Hahermon
• UIA Federations Canada: Yaffo Daled (Tel Aviv Yaffo)

All together, we see a fantastic figure of 12 different communities in Israel, for one Jewish Community. Only the USA would have a larger number of twinned communities, but relative to the size of the Canadian Jewish Community, this is an overwhelming number of partnerships, most of them showed an impressive record of achievements in the social field, that allowed our communities to phase out with a feeling that rehaadditional areasitation and prosperity will continue to be part of the Project Renewal Legacy.

The Canadian Jewish Community is proud of being part of bringing to these partnerships, social recovery, leadership building and physical renewal. Most of the communities listed above have quadrupled in size since 1977 and have become a most desirable place to live in for many new families that come from other places

The physical impact on the ground can be measured by the construction of 27 facilities in all of these communities, such as: Community Centres, Auditoriums, Libraries, swimming pools, educational structures, day care centres, sport halls etc.
