Missions and Speakers

Director: Anat Kadan

The missions and Speakers Department both coordinates Canadian missions in Israel and sends speakers to Jewish communities throughout Canada to promote hasbara (informational) campaigns.

Missions are a chance to show participants the various programs and projects which the various Canadian Federations generously support. It is also an opportunity for participants to be updated as to the ongoing, current needs in their regions of interest.

Focused on developing relationships with partnership communities, UIAC missions help create warm, people-to-people connections between Israelis and Canadians. Arranging missions to Israel and providing speakers in Canada are both ways in which UIAC continually strives to foster personal contact between the two countries.

Canada Israel Experience (CIE)

Director: Hedai Offaim
Assistant to Director: Leesa Fox

Canada Israel Experience (CIE) brings over 3,000 pupils, students and young Jewish Canadians on tailor-made trips to Israel each year. An international leader in Israel programming and informal Jewish/Zionist education, CIE recognizes the increasing challenge Canadian Jewish youth encounter regarding assimilation, their Jewish identity and their connection to Israel. As such, CIE and Magbit Canada organize missions and volunteer programs that combine educational, social and recreational activities.

CIE has pioneered mifgashim (encounters) between Canadian youth and their Israeli peers, strengthening the sense of Jewish identity and belonging on both sides. CIE missions range from a few weeks to a few months and include Canadian Taglit-Birthright Israel and March of the Living programs in which over 20,000 Canadian Jewish youth have already participated. To find out more about CIE, please contact Leesa Fox 972 2 620 2090.
