For Israel's 60th, Yediot Achronot, one of Israel's leading daily newspapers and the Israeli Postal Authority held a contest to design a new stamp to commemorate the occasion. The winning stamp, chosen by thousands of internet voters, was designed by the graphic artist and illustrator Eli Carmeli from Tel Aviv, who worked to incorporate as many traditional Israeli symbols as possible within his design.
