The government of Israel chose a special logo to commemorate the activities and projects that are part of the official "Israel at 60" celebrations. The logo was designed by an Israeli graphic artist, Rami Syntes, from the Arad Communications marketing firm.
The logo was chosen from hundreds of designs that were submitted in a national competition. Said the committee members, who chose the winning entry:
"We chose this design because it demonstrates flowing innovation and expresses the optimism, hope and belief of our people. The logo tells the story of Israel; the spirals of blue ribbon that make up the number '60' symbolize the challenges we have boldly overcome as we look forward toward future growth and prosperity. The Star of David stands strong and solid at the source, and everything is tied together by a young child, representing our future and our hope."
