Magbit Canada proudly welcomed Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and President Shimon Peres to the Yom Haatzmaut “After-party” celebrating 60 years of Israel and 40 years of partnership between the State of Israel and the Canadian Jewish community via our offices. At the event, Magbit Canada honored Nochi Dankner of IDB Group, Eitan Wertheimer of Iscar Ltd., and Michael Strauss of Strauss Group, three of our exemplary Israeli philanthropic partners. Over 1,200 were in attendance for a festive event including blessings and congratulations from the Prime Minister and President, performances from dance and music troupes from our partnership communities and regions, and a video tribute commemorating 40 years of partnership and meaningful contributions and action.

Visiting Canadians celebrated in a number of additional “Israel at 60” events, including ceremonies commemorating Yom HaZikaron, a major dinner event at “Avenue” with Keren HaYesod and other international guests visiting Israel, festive Shabbat dinners with honored guest speakers, and a huge Canadian Yom Haatzmaut picnic and barbeque.
