This week marks the start of a new and unique people-to-people project at Joseftal Hospital in Eilat. Dr. Irving Gottesman and Dr. Howard Tenenbaum of Toronto, who chaired this year’s annual UJA Federation Medical and Dental Services Mission to Israel, extended their stay in Israel this year. They are traveling to Eilat for meetings, discussions and professional collaboration with their professional peers in Eilat. Their program is headed by the director of the hospital, Prof. Yochanan Paiser.
Over the course of two days, the doctors will be sharing professional experiences and research projects with their counterparts at Joseftal, in joint meetings and briefings on various medical issues in each of their respective communities. A roundtable discussion will take place on prospects and plans for future collaboration between the two communities. In addition, they will enjoy an informal opportunity to get to know one another on an evening dinner cruise for all the participants along the shores of Eilat.
Drs. Gottesman and Tenenbaum are joined by additional mission participants from the annual doctor's mission, for a unique Partnership 2000 tour of Eilat and Eilot, in order to learn about the various partnership initiatives sponsored by UJA Federation through UIA Canada in the region.
This is the first professional collaboration of its kind in Eilat, one that the doctors look forward to further developing in the future.
