In keeping with our efforts to make a lasting physical impact on Israel, Magbit Canada has helped establish over 240 building projects in 85 communities across the country. Working together with cities, towns and agricultural settlements spanning the entire country, we first identify the specific building needs of communities, and then help facilitate construction by channeling Canadian Jewish Federation funds. Once a project is completed, Magbit Canada maintains its connection by supervising its upkeep and operating procedures to ensure a high level of maintenance and long-term benefits to the community.

Our projects cover four distinct areas:

• Educational Facilities

Recognizing that better education paves the way toward a stronger society, we have supported the creation of dozens of kindergartens, pedagogic centres and public libraries throughout Israel.

• Recreational Facilities

We have supported the establishment of dozens of community centres, auditoriums, sports halls and swimming pools that not only offer a range of recreational activities, but also serve as a focal point for community activities.

• Absorption Centres

Magbit Canada has helped create several absorption centres in Israel that provide a first home for new immigrants and smooth their entry into society.

• Synagogues

We have helped build synagogues in Israel that bear the name of former Canadian congregations that were located in small communities whose Jewish populations migrated to larger cities in Canada and abroad.

Whether via kindergartens for the young or absorption centres for singles, families and the elderly, our projects enrich the lives of hundreds of thousands of Israelis.
