Scholarships Overview
Israeli youth must be afforded a full range of educational opportunities to help lead the Jewish state into the future. Only through education can we inspire youth to connect with and engage their communities. To this end, we believe that every young Israeli deserves an equal chance to aspire to a higher education, regardless of his or her place of residence or socio-economic status.
Israel’s ongoing conflicts, large influx of immigrants, and regional development issues present the country with a unique set of educational challenges. Since the outbreak of the Intifada in 2000 and the ensuing economic crisis, for example, the number of applications filed by needy students has increased considerably.
Magbit Canada is committed to overcoming these and other challenges by providing scholarships that enable young adults to study at academic institutions across the country. To make the process as efficient as possible, we have established a scholarship committee with professional members of the Israel Residents Committee (IRC) that determines the appropriate distribution of our scholarship funds. Members meet regularly, and guidelines are created to respond to the changing needs of the student population and the availability of funds.
Our scholarships give Israeli students the opportunity to advance academically. In addition, these funds help impact not only their lives, but also the lives of fellow community residents, Israelis and Jews throughout the world.
Targeting particular groups and regions throughout Israel, our array of scholarships cover the following categories:
